According to Subway customer service the veggie patty sold in the UK and Ireland contains egg and is not suitable for vegans.

What: Chain selling sandwiches (subs).

Prices: Around €3.50 for 6 inch veggie sub.

Vegetarian menu: Veggie Delite Sub, various cookies, some salads, wraps, crisps.

Drinks: Soft drinks, Tropicana, bottled water.

Was the food good? The veggie patty here is pretty good (much better than so-called “mushroom burgers” in some Dublin restaurants). Choose from  a few different breads and several different fillings (olives, pickles, cheese, lettuce, etc.).  They also toast the sandwiches, if you want. It’s satisfying if you have a craving for some veggie fast food.

Service: Good. In this outlet they change their gloves to make a veggie sub and also have a separate knife for slicing the sandwich in half, rather than using the same one which is used to cut sandwiches which include meat (other outlets should take note).

Comfortable? There are a few tables here but it doesn’t strike me as a pleasant place to sit.

My advice to the chef: None.

My advice to the manager: None.

Overall: An okay place to get veggie fast food. Whatever the other Subways are like, this particular one caters well to vegetarians.
